Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 15, 2025
We built FlowPortalCom because we wanted to create mobile experiences that actually work. And part of making things work means being straight with you about how we handle your data.
This isn't one of those policies written by lawyers for lawyers. We've tried to explain everything in plain language. If something's still unclear, reach out and we'll explain it better.
Who We Are
FlowPortalCom operates from Busan, South Korea. Our office is at Bujeon-ro 95, Busanjin-gu, in the Ihyeon Building, 4th floor. We specialize in mobile app UX/UI design, which means we work with interface data, user flow information, and design feedback.
When we say "we," "us," or "our" in this document, we mean FlowPortalCom. When we say "you" or "your," we're talking about anyone who visits our website or uses our services.
What Information We Collect
Here's what we gather and why we need it:
Information You Give Us Directly
- Your name and email when you contact us or request information
- Company details if you're reaching out for business inquiries
- Phone number when you provide it for project discussions
- Project requirements and design preferences during consultations
- Feedback and communications when you interact with our team
Technical Information We Collect Automatically
- IP address and general location data
- Browser type and device information
- Pages you visit on our site and how long you stay
- Referring websites and search terms that brought you here
- Time and date of your visits
Note: We don't collect payment information directly. If we use payment processors for any services, they handle that data under their own security protocols.
How We Use Your Information
We're not interested in data for data's sake. Everything we collect serves a specific purpose.
- Responding to your inquiries and providing the information you requested
- Understanding which parts of our site are useful so we can improve them
- Sending project updates and design revisions to active clients
- Improving our website performance and fixing technical issues
- Complying with South Korean data protection regulations
- Preventing fraud and maintaining security
We won't suddenly start sending you marketing emails unless you've specifically opted in. And even then, every email includes an easy way to unsubscribe.
Legal Basis for Processing (South Korea Context)
Under South Korean Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), we process your data based on:
| Processing Type | Legal Basis |
|---|---|
| Contact inquiries | Your consent when submitting forms |
| Service delivery | Contract performance |
| Website analytics | Legitimate business interest |
| Legal compliance | Regulatory requirements |
Who We Share Your Data With
We keep your information pretty close. But there are a few situations where we need to share it:
Service Providers
We work with a small number of trusted companies that help us run our business. This might include web hosting services, email providers, and analytics tools. These companies only get access to the data they need to do their job, and they're contractually required to keep it secure.
Legal Requirements
If South Korean authorities require us to disclose information for legal reasons, we'll comply. We might also share data if it's necessary to protect our rights or prevent fraud.
Business Transfers
If FlowPortalCom is acquired or merges with another company, your data would transfer to the new owners. We'd notify you before this happens.
What we won't do: We will never sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. That's not our business model and never will be.
Your Rights
Under South Korean law, you have several rights regarding your personal data. Here's what you can do and how to actually do it:
Access Your Data
You can request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. Email us at contact@flowportalcom.com with "Data Access Request" in the subject line. We'll send you everything within 10 business days.
Correct Inaccurate Information
If something we have on file is wrong, tell us and we'll fix it. Usually within 48 hours for simple corrections.
Delete Your Data
You can ask us to delete your personal information. We'll do it unless we have a legal reason to keep it (like ongoing projects or regulatory requirements). Send deletion requests to the same email address.
Restrict Processing
You can ask us to temporarily stop processing your data while we resolve any disputes about accuracy or legitimate use.
Data Portability
Want to take your data elsewhere? We'll provide it in a standard, machine-readable format so you can transfer it to another service.
Object to Processing
If you disagree with how we're using your data, you can object. We'll stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue.
How We Protect Your Information
Security isn't just a checkbox for us. We take several practical steps to keep your data safe:
- All data transmission uses SSL/TLS encryption
- Our servers are located in secure facilities with restricted access
- We use firewalls and intrusion detection systems
- Staff access to personal data is limited to those who actually need it
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Strong password policies and two-factor authentication for internal systems
That said, no system is completely bulletproof. If we ever experience a data breach that affects you, we'll notify you within 72 hours as required by South Korean law.
Data Retention
We don't keep your data forever. Here's our general approach:
| Data Type | Retention Period |
|---|---|
| Contact form submissions | 2 years or until you request deletion |
| Active project data | Duration of project plus 3 years |
| Website analytics | 26 months |
| Financial records | 5 years (tax compliance) |
| Marketing communications | Until you unsubscribe |
When data reaches the end of its retention period, we securely delete it. That means overwriting it multiple times so it can't be recovered.
International Data Transfers
Our servers are primarily located in South Korea. If we ever need to transfer data internationally (like working with cloud services or international partners), we'll ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
This might include standard contractual clauses approved by South Korean authorities or working only with companies that maintain equivalent data protection standards.
Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses a few cookies to function properly and understand how people use the site. Here's what's running:
Essential Cookies
These keep the site working. They remember your session and preferences. You can't really turn these off without breaking the site.
Analytics Cookies
We use these to see which pages get the most traffic and where people tend to leave the site. This helps us improve the experience. You can opt out of these if you want.
Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. You can block all cookies, delete existing ones, or get notified when new ones are created. Just know that blocking essential cookies might make parts of the site unusable.
Children's Privacy
Our services aren't directed at anyone under 14 years old. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you're a parent and think your child has given us personal information, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We'll update this policy occasionally as our practices evolve or laws change. When we make significant changes, we'll post a notice on our website and update the "Last Updated" date at the top.
If the changes are major, we'll email active clients directly. For everyone else, continuing to use our site after we post changes means you accept them.
Supervisory Authority
If you have concerns about how we handle your data and you're not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with the Personal Information Protection Commission in South Korea.
Their website is www.pipc.go.kr and they can be reached at +82-2-2100-3394. You can file complaints in Korean or English.
